Am I eligible for the FCC's Emergency Broadband Benefit Program?

The FCC has qualified Starry's digital equity program, Starry Connect, for participation in the Emergency Broadband Benefit program. Unfortunately, customers in Columbus, OH are not eligble for this benefit.

If Starry Connect is available in your building, an email was sent on 5/12/21 with more information on how to opt-in for this program, and a personalized link to opt-in. Please note: you must enter your date of birth in the MM/DD/YYYY format.

If Starry Connect is not available in your building, you may still qualify. To verify your individual eligibility, you must first register with the National Lifeline Verifier. Then, once registered, we can manually opt you into the EBB Program. Subscribers outside of Starry Connect communities must be able to demonstrate eligibility in any of the following categories to the National Lifeline Verifier:

  • Has an income that is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or participates in certain assistance programs, such as SNAP, Medicaid, or Lifeline;
  • Approved to receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision in the 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 school year;
  • Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year;
  • Experienced a substantial loss of income due to job loss or furlough since February 29, 2020 and the household had a total income in 2020 at or below $99,000 for single filers and $198,000 for joint filers;

If you qualify, please email our support team with your National Lifeline Verifier ID and date of birth, and we will get you opted into the program.
