Starry Dash+: How to Port Forward

You must be connected to the Dash to modify its settings. To port forward on the Dash:

  1. Open any browser and type 192.168.1.1 into the URL bar and hit enter. For reference, this default IP address is printed on the sticker on the router.
  2. Log in using the default Administrator Username and password listed on the sticker on the right side of the Dash. You will be prompted to create a new Administrative password. You can choose to do so, or select skip to keep it as the default.
  3. From the Dash homepage, click on the 3 horizontal lines in the upper-right corner to access the menu.
  4. Under Network Settings, select “Home Networking.”
  5. Click on the tab titled “Static DHCP.”
  6. Click on the + next to Static DHCP Configuration.
  7. Toggle the configuration to “Active.”
  8. Under Select Device Info, select the dropdown and choose the device you wish to port forward. (The rest of the information will auto-populate.)
  9. Take note of the IP address, you will need it later. Click “OK.”
  10. Click on the 3 horizontal lines in the upper right corner to access the menu.
  11.  Under Network Setting, select NAT.

  15. Leave "Obtain WAN IP Automatically" checked.
  16. Under “Start Port,” enter the port to be forwarded or the first in the range. (Typically provided by the game or device requiring the port forwarding rule.)
  17. “End Port” should be the end of the range.
  18. “Translation Start and End Port” will be the same as “Start and End Port.”
  19. “Server IP Address” will be the same address as the DHCP reservation.
  20. Protocol information will also be provided by the game or device requiring the port forwarding rule (TCP, UDP or both).
  21. Click “OK.” (Please note: If a game is asking to forward multiple ports (i.e. 88, 443, and 2000-2500) that would be three separate rules.)
