Considering using your own router? Here are some helpful things to know.
All of Starry’s WiFi routers are WiFi 6 compatible and fully integrated with our network. That means better performance and more intelligent troubleshooting to ensure you have the best internet experience possible.
If this sounds like something you might be interested in, many of our plans come with the WiFi router included. You can check availability to learn more.
If you prefer to use your own router, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- The router must have a WAN port.
- It cannot be a router/modem combo or a DOCSIS router (router used for cable service). Starry Internet service does not work with router/modem combos.
We highly recommend using a WiFi 6 router. If you do not own one, here are a few options:

- NETGEAR Nighthawk 6-Stream Dual-Band WiFi 6 Router
- TP-Link Deco X55
- TP-Link Deco X20
